Car Rental
If you prefer not to take buses, or wish to go somewhere which is
not accessible by public transport, you can rent a car. A couple things
to realize:
- Traffic in big cities is crazy, so don't rent a car to do things within
a city, rather, take a bus, taxi, etc.
- In general, you have to bring the car back to where you rented it.
However, rental places often have some other cities where you can
also drop the car off (besides the city of origin), but in that case
you have to pay something extra.
- If you want to go for large distances, get the car for a day price.
If you go for small distances, you can get it for a smaller price
and then pay for each kilometer. You have to figure out what is the
best, but remember that usually, when traveling in Brazil, distances
are HUGE.
- It is possible to ask them to bring the car to you at the hotel, but
you do have to go to the agency beforehand to make the payment.
This is one of the possible car rentals, where we have good experiences
with: Localiza. This
company also allows drop-off in many other cities.
